World Juggling Day recently took place on June 17, and I thought it would be fun to talk about the world juggle in this week’s Weekend Word.

jug·gle
ˈjəɡəl/

verb

  1. continuously toss into the air and catch (a number of objects) so as to keep at least one in the air while handling the others, typically for the entertainment of others.

noun

  1. an act of juggling.

Remember the sense of accomplishment you felt the first time you learned how to juggle? Over the years you may have perfected the skill, juggling balls, hacky sacs, bowling pins, oranges, or pretty much anything you could get your hands on. As we mature and grow into adults juggling becomes more difficult. We trade in our balls and hacky sacks for homework and after school activities; then trade that in for managing bills, work schedules, family time, working out – the list goes on…

It seems that as we grow, life hands us more balls to juggle. Sometimes we’re able to manage it by ourselves, and other times we need a little help; like a professional juggler asking for help from an audience volunteer. You can be that audience volunteer for orphaned children in Uganda.

By coming to our schools, children no longer have to juggle the demands of begging on the streets for basic necessities like food, water and shelter; instead they can focus on earning a good education that can provide them with a bright future of independence and self-sufficiency.

This can be a reality for more children when you make a donation to Hope for Hearts. No matter how full our hands may get trying to juggle life’s tasks, know there is always someone out there who could use a little help from an audience volunteer. What’s better – it’s easy to make a donation. Simply click on the link below!
