As the year is coming to a close, and with all this talk about goals and New Year’s resolutions, I am looking back and reflecting on all that our organization has achieved. In 2007, Hope for Hearts started as a simple lemonade stand to raise money to provide education to orphaned girls in Uganda. Since then, it’s flourished into a nonprofit providing a hand up through education to thousands of girls throughout the years. That in itself, is a piece of art that I am proud of.
Looking back on 2015, I am realizing just how much we have grown in the past year. The artwork we created out of a blank canvas that was 2015 is truly phenomenal. I wanted to share a few of our biggest accomplishments this year with you.
New School, New Hope
Thanks to the support from donors like you, we were able to expand our funding to now service two schools in Uganda. This year we added support for a new school that will provide both boys and girls with a hand up through education. This new school allows us to expand our reach even further and we are now educating more than 300 students every year!
Community Partnerships
We are proud to continue our partnership with Glittering Lights at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway for the 2015 holiday season. If you’re in the Las Vegas area, make sure you go through this spectacular drive-thru holiday light display before it closes for the year on January 3. We have a beautiful light display featuring the Hope for Hearts logo and website, expanding our visibility in the community and attracting new supporters.
We also expanded our community partnerships. In addition to participating in yoga classes, performing stretches such as Downward Dog and Sun Salutation, you can now also purchase a handmade necklace, or kambulago, at Sin City Yoga in Downtown Las Vegas. All proceeds benefit Hope for Hearts. This is an important grass roots effort to raise funds for our organization and spread the word about the great work we are doing.
We are always looking to expand our partnerships. If you are a local business or organization and are interested in partnering with us, contact us here.
Media Coverage
Extra!! Extra!! Read all about it!!! Read some of our highlighted media coverage below.
Earlier this year our organization was profiled in the View News, a community newspaper in Las Vegas.
Also, we were fortunate enough to have our handmade necklaces featured in Las Vegas Weekly’s annual Holiday Gift Guide.
Thank you to everyone who has helped paint our canvas in 2015. We look forward to seeing 2016’s masterpiece.
Artfully Yours,
Cristen
