I am happy to announce we are refreshing. Slowly, we are incorporating changes into our look. So what’s new, you ask?

Our logo received a slight refresh incorporating our name and tag – poverty to prosperity.

We have revised our mission statement! You will notice the word children. Yes, our primary focus has always been girls. In an effort to reach our long-term goal of not one, but multiple new campuses, we are slowly expanding to serve boys.
Helping children in conflicted areas lift themselves from poverty to prosperity through education. A step toward world peace!

We have a new campaign. Check these babies out! #AlumnaSuccess, #FutureStylist, #FutureCulinaryArtist

Year three is here! I challenge you tomorrow, on #GivingTuesday. The challenge is simple. GIVE. On December 2, open your heart to give a child in Uganda a chance at education.

G – we will have much gratitude

I – when you do give, our children gain a step towards independence

V – it supports their vocational training

Eeducation is the key to their success

#GivingTuesday in our world provides a hand up to a child, who through no fault of their own landed on the streets to fend for themselves. These children have made their way to St. Elizabeth Girls Academy, and are now studying vocations to reach their dreams – a self-sufficient life.

Challenge details:

Help us provide a hand up! Share image on social media.
  • Donate $15, at hope4hearts.org
  • Get 9 people to do the same.
  • Social Media: Use the image or post the following…#povertyTOprosperity – I just gave $15 and a hand up to children in Uganda. You can too! hope4hearts.org #GivingTuesday

Congratulations. Your efforts purchased a sewing machine that allows a girl to start her own business.

Thank you for your help this #GivingTuesday!

Peace, Love & Giving

My pilgrimage went as planned. A peaceful road traveled to the town of Lisieux, France. I have a few special places, but the Basilica built in honor of St Therese of Lisieux, truly amazing.

Life is all about choices. St. Therese of Lisieux, the little flower, chose to give her life to God at age 15. She lived each day with an unshakable confidence in God’s love.

“What matters in life,” she wrote, “is not great deeds, but great love.”

The path I take with life remains solid. The path has some loose rocks to where I trip. The path offers detour trips along the way for an adventure within the adventure of life. I meet new friends on the path. The path continues to guide and provide.

Along my path, I have received so many blessings in all areas of my life – I have no choice but to share it in some way, for my heart is filled with love to give. The path introduced me to Father Muggagga, and now a lifetime of helping the children of our world. My heart opens with love to provide a child a chance at life. A hand-up from hand they were dealt. Hope for Hearts is one of my great loves, one that allows my heart to sing and shine.

Remember, no matter the path you are on, embrace the path for what it brings. Life is a journey – not a performance to please others.

“On the day of my conversion Charity entered into my heart and with it a yearning to forget self always; thenceforward I was happy.” – St. Therese of Lisieux

Peace, love & wear comfy shoes, the path is long ☺

Time is ticking away. Your hunger pains are at the verge of making nasty noises. I say you try something new. Eat a Rolex. Now, it’s not what you are thinking. This masterpiece comes from the streets of Uganda, not the world headquarters of Geneva.

Street corners in Kampala are filled with Rolex stands. You can score one for .30 to .60 cents in American dough. The time has come to divulge this yummy-ness Ugandans line the streets for…roll + eggs = Rolex.

You probably have the ingredients in your fridge right now.

♥ Chapati (Flat Bread, can substitute a flour tortilla)
♥ 2 Eggs
♥ 1 Pepper (Green, Habanero) to taste
♥ Tomatoes to taste
♥ Onion to taste
♥ Vegetable Oil
♥ Seasoning to taste

Like any recipe you can substitute or add-on depending what’s in season. Here are other vegetables typically used in a Rolex:

♥ Carrots
♥ Cabbage
♥ Leeks

Check out how easy it is to make from a street vendor, himself; or head on over to fellow blogger, greenBananas and see photos and a recipe for Chapati.

Peace, Love & Kula (eat!)
